Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin, TX and relocation assistance is available. Approximately 25% travel is expected.
- 8+ years of experience working with Information Systems, especially networking and wireless networking solutions
- Must have 2+ years working with wireless solutions and be familiar with 802.11 (WiFi) and 802.16 (WiMax)
- Must have experience with IT security issues and solutions
- Have worked across multiple geographic locations (e.g. Americas, Europe, Asia)
- 2+ years working in a Sales, Sales Support or Marketing Role
- Demonstrated abilities in Consultative Selling techniques / business justification process
- Demonstrated presentation and/or teaching skills (must be able to effectively communicate a vision)
- Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering
PREFERENCES:
- Experience in Systems Administration, including network management
- Familiarity with other wireless standards is preferred (e.g. 802.15.4)
- Experience with other RF communications (e.g. SCADA systems)
- Experience in the process industries
- Experience implementing automation projects
- Experience in managing alliances / partnerships with third party companies
- Familiarity with Emerson Process Management distribution channels worldwide (both Sales and Service)
JOB ROLES / DUTIES:
- Help define, and then manage, Sales / Marketing / Implementation partnerships as required to provide whole product solution
- Work with others to revise Emerson wireless message (capabilities, user benefits, implementation plan, support)
- Make high level sales calls to key Emerson account to present wireless message (above)
- Define message and mission for PSS Division sales people worldwide, then develop presentation and collateral for this mission
- Train / Evangelize PSS Division sales people on wireless – motivate sales personnel to enthusiastically spread wireless message throughout installed base and market.
- Manage and resolve channel conflicts as they arise.
- Develop and then implement metrics to measure effectiveness of wireless marketing efforts
