Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Houston, TX and relocation assistance is not available. Approximately 20% travel is expected.
The Software Engineer's primary function is to help develop and maintain Autoload software for the TMS group; assist in software coding and install shield build; help generate software specification; help answer Autoload software support calls; travel to site to install/commission, terminal systems; participate in database design and build systems.
In addition, the software engineer is required to have some basic hardware knowledge about equipment connectivity, such as serial, MODBUS and network (Ethernet) type; configuration knowledge is desirable.
DeltaV (DCS) system knowledge and Plantweb architecture is also desirable. All functions adhering to the principles, policies and procedures set by the PSS group.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of industry experience.
- Experience in the bulk terminal distribution of liquid gasoline/chemical products a definite plus.
- Require a minimum of a BS in engineering preferably software engineering.
Requirements
- Proficient in working with Microsoft technologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft 2003 and upwards OS.
- Proficient in C++, CSharp, VBasic.
- Efficient in using MS Word, Excel, MS projects, Visio
- Experience in software development.
- To be able to produce quality software functional design specifications.
- To be able to work in a group.
- Some field experience in installing, commissioning systems.
- Sufficient software knowledge to install, configure and service the terminal system out in the field.
Travel
- Job requires 20% travel. Travel includes both within the USA and overseas.
