Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin, Texas. Minimal travel required. Position does allow for and encourage travel to industry-related eLibrary conferences.

A Master's of Library and Information Science degree is preferred, will consider other Master's level candidates. Prefer three to five years experience in information center management or other research and information oriented experience. Must be able to work independently and take initiative to keep resource center up to date with state-of-the-art eLibrary developments.

The successful candidate will provide the following:

  • In-depth web research for all departments
  • eLibrary services (access to materials, reference service, cataloging and organizing materials, tables of contents, alerts, document delivery, and in-depth research)
  • Competitive research through the Competition SharePoint Site
  • Technical support, training, and on-going administration for EDOCS (Austin site)

The successful candidate will also:

  • Create and maintain the eLibrary web pages.
  • Maintain the customer and engineering projects archive, including relationships with off-site vendors
  • Collaborate with Information Services staff at other Emerson sites to leverage our combined buying power
  • Negotiate licenses and provide access to electronic information resources
  • Support ISO certification procedures in (EDOCS)
  • Serve as site corporate records retention officer
  • Purchase books, journals, articles, and standards to support all employees.
