Requirements:
We seek skilled and experienced candidates who are interested in a long term, professional contract assignment at a Fortune 500 corporate headquarters in the Human Resources department, with a significant amount of phone coverage responsibilities.

We have an immediate need for a professional, (Contract) Administrative & Phone Coverage Assistant. The HR Administrative Assistant will support the HSSE and HR staff with projects and filing needs, and will provide outstanding customer service (especially over the phone) to our customers, business partners and employees calling Emerson Process Management's divisional headquarters during lunch hours.

The successful candidate must have:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Three to five years of experience working in a professional office environment required.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization or headquarters is desired but not required.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Personal organization, planning, multi-tasking and follow up to drive projects and personal tasks through to completion.
  • Self motivation and follow through to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines, and to assist others in accomplishing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and names at extremely high level of accuracy and with a level of attention to detail that enables you to catch potential errors and to ask questions to ensure mistakes are caught and corrected.
  • Experience handling highly sensitive information in a professional, ethical and legally responsible manner.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Software savvy and willingness to learn advanced software capabilities to add creative components to presentations, flyers, web pages, etc.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; previous experience updating web pages using FrontPage or HTML; experience in MS Publisher, PeopleSoft/Oracle and Adobe Photoshop preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Ability and desire to be a true team player.

The successful candidate will contribute to our group in many ways, providing:

  • Excellent administrative support to the HSSE Supervisor and the HR Staff with projects and filing.
  • Professional and friendly live coverage of multiple phone lines every day during lunch hours (11am to 1:30pm).
  • Development and editing of presentations and projects.
  • Composition and distribution of correspondence.
  • Meeting scheduling including catering and coordination of other logistics.
  • Key support for seasonal events and projects including our United Way fundraising campaign drive, our employee recognition Service Award Banquet, the annual Company Picnic and other events and seminars, etc.
  • Maintenance of information on our company intranet (internal website) in FrontPage (or similar).
  • Assistance as needed to support staff in meeting tight deadlines (for unexpected opportunities and for regular annual and other deadlines).

Hours:
Full time hours (40 hours per week, flexible start time, 7am – 9am), Monday – Friday, with continuous lunchtime live coverage of multiple phone lines from 11am to 1:30pm.

Expected Assignment Duration:
We expect this contract assignment to last six to nine months. (There is a strong probability of an extension, based on business needs at the time.)

Employment agency:
The successful candidate for this temporary assignment at Emerson Process Management will be employed by a preferred staffing services provider for the duration of this assignment.

Employment Screening:
Background Check and Drug Screening are required. Credit check also required for HR, Finance and Procurement positions.

Start date:
ASAP after completion of required employment screening.
